Jiuzhaigou Valley

Families' Extraordinary Vacation

Plan the route around you

Who this journey suits

For lake and forest scenery with a focused family or first-visit framework. Not a promise of step-free sightseeing or a low-altitude itinerary when mountain extensions are added.

Arrival and departure

For a Chengdu-based plan, agree whether both ends are in Chengdu or use another confirmed connection. Rail, road and the final valley transfer must be coordinated together.

Season and pace

April–November is the current general planning window. Winter visits need separate opening checks; exact autumn colour varies with the season.

What to prioritise

The 4–6 day framework leaves room for the valley and arrival/departure. Add Huanglong or another area only if the transfer and walking demands fit your party.

Four-day outline

A reference framework for discussion, not a fixed departure, a list of included services or a guarantee of same-day connections.

  1. Day 1

Arrival and time to settle in

Arrival and transfer to the Jiuzhaigou area, with time to settle in. The rail or road connection is confirmed around your arrival schedule.

  2. Day 2

A full day in Jiuzhaigou Valley

A full day focused on Jiuzhaigou Valley, using the park's required transport arrangements.

  3. Day 3

A gentler day or an agreed extension

A gentler day, additional valley time, or an optional separately assessed extension, as agreed in the written itinerary. Huanglong is not an automatic inclusion.

  4. Day 4

    Return transfer or onward travel

Return transfer or onward travel. Timing and connections are confirmed in the written itinerary.

Five- or six-day option

Extra days can be used for rest, Chengdu time or an agreed extension. The return transfer moves to the final day of the agreed plan; this is not a fixed four-day trip followed by two extra travel days.

Huanglong requires a separate suitability and transport assessment. Low altitude, step-free access and visiting every featured attraction within four days are not guaranteed. Attraction descriptions introduce the destination; they are not an inclusion list for the four-day option.

Before we confirm your family itinerary

Party and pace
Share age groups and walking preferences so daily pacing can be discussed.
Rooms and vehicle
Room setup, luggage space and any child-seat request must be confirmed for the specific booking; availability is not guaranteed.
Guide and language
Ask which days include a guide, the confirmed language, and whether guiding is inside the park. A driver is not automatically an English-speaking guide.
Transport and tickets
Confirm rail or road connections, park transport, entry tickets and any cable-car inclusion in the itemised itinerary.
Payment and changes
Deposit, cancellation and refund terms are confirmed in writing for the specific itinerary before booking.

Service scope and stays

Comfortable hotels or resorts near the valley, selected for privacy, location and rest quality.

Private transfers, timed entry planning and route pacing designed to reduce friction during peak nature-viewing periods.

Services to agree in your plan

  • Private itinerary design
  • Local guide coordination where needed
  • Vehicle and driver arrangement
  • Hotel arrangement support
  • Airport transfer planning
  • Destination logistics
  • Travel support during the journey
  • Special requests coordination

Not included unless agreed separately

  • International or domestic flights unless arranged separately
  • Meals and personal expenses not agreed in the final itinerary
  • Optional activities not included in the confirmed plan
  • Visa, entry, and destination requirements handled independently unless specified
  • Personal coverage, medical expenses, and items of a private nature

Questions before you travel

Is a private car used inside every scenic area?

Scenic-area transport rules still apply. Clarify the private transfer and park-transport portions separately.

Can we add Chengdu, Huanglong and Mount Siguniang?

Compare the complete travel time first. With limited days, one carefully chosen extension usually protects the pace better than including all three.
